The 4.5 boulder is a bouldering area on Bureau of Land Management land in Oregon, within the Nw Oregon Cascades Field Office. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Redneck Rivierra just 0.2 miles away and Quartzville Scenic Byway about 1.7 miles off. The area is managed by the Bureau of Land Management. The climbing here is all bouldering, with five routes ranging from V1 to V4. Chicken Tendies is the easiest at V1, and Teenage libertarians is the hardest at V4. The routes are named with a mix of whimsy and practicality, including Falcon's reach and Step on my Beard. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Detroit Dam weather station show July and August highs around 80 to 81°F with only four or five wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the low 40s and rain on most days. Yellowbottom Recreation Site, about 2.1 miles away, offers camping, and Yellowstone Creek, about 1.7 miles away, is a canoeing option.
