The Deschutes River Trail is a short, easy mountain biking route in Oregon's Deschutes National Forest, within the Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District. The trail is an out-and-back that covers about 1.3 miles, with a total elevation gain of 256 feet from the low point at 3,883 feet to the high at 3,960 feet. The climb is gentle, with the steepest stretch at about 10% grade near the start. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from the nearby Sunriver weather station show July highs around 84°F with lows near 41°F, while winter highs stay in the 30s and 40s. Several other outings sit close by. The Deschutes River Horse and Ticket to Ride hikes are each within a mile, and the Meadow Camp climbing area is about 0.9 miles away. Paddlers can reach the Deschutes River, roughly 6 miles off.
