Winberry Divide Trail #3476 is a hard out-and-back hike in the Middle Fork Ranger District of Oregon's Willamette National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The trail runs about 8.6 miles round trip, with a total elevation gain of 2,741 feet, and it starts at roughly 2,185 feet, climbing to a high point of 2,761 feet before descending back to the start. The route is steep from the outset, with the steepest stretch at about 0.14 miles in, where the grade reaches 39 percent. That makes the trail a serious commitment, and the climb is roughly 1,413 feet one way. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Oakridge Fish Hatchery show July and August highs around 80 to 81°F, with only two or three wet days a month. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the divide run cooler. The trip takes about four hours. For more time in the area, Joe's Peak and the Hardesty Trail #3469 are both about 3 miles away, and Timber Butte Cabin offers a place to stay about 4 miles off.
