Whychus Creek Overlook is an easy, accessible hike in the Sisters Ranger District of Deschutes National Forest in central Oregon. The loop trail is 0.85 miles long and sits at about 3,850 feet, with a high point of 3,910 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is gravel, so it works well for a short outing on foot or for anyone needing a wheelchair-accessible route. The climb is gentle, with a total gain of 55 feet and a total loss of 109 feet. The steepest stretch comes about 0.3 miles in at a 5% grade, and the trail is open from June through October. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from the Sisters weather station, about 4.5 miles away, show highs around 66°F in May and 76°F in September. That station sits roughly 730 feet lower, so expect cooler temperatures on the trail. Other trails start close by. Peterson Ridge Tie is 0.1 mile away and Cougar Draw Trail #4071 is 0.3 mile away.
