Twin Lake is an easy hike of about 2.9 miles on natural trail in the Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District of Deschutes National Forest in Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. The route is an out-and-back, with a low point of about 4,343 feet and a high of about 4,438 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.6 miles in, with a grade of about 12 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Wickiup Dam weather station show July highs around 83°F with lows near 47°F and only about three wet days, while winter highs sit in the low 40s. Bikes are allowed, but horses are not. North Twin Lake campground sits just 0.1 mile away, and the Dwarf Missletoe Interpretive hike is 0.2 mile off. South Twin Lake and Sheep Bridge campground are each about a mile away.
