Timpanogas Lake is an easy hike of about 1.8 miles in the Middle Fork Ranger District of the Willamette National Forest in Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is a flat route with no elevation gain, so it works well for a short outing or as a way to reach the lake itself. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Odell Lake show July and August highs around 73 to 74°F with only about three wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the mid-30s and regular snow days. Bikes are allowed on the natural-surface trail, and the route is close to several other destinations. Timpanogas Lake Campground and the June Lake and Indigo Lake hikes all sit about 0.1 mile away. Summit Lake Campground is about 3.6 miles off.
