Swede Creek is a 2.3-mile out-and-back hike in the Wild Rivers Ranger District of the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forests in southwest Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is rated easy, with a one-way climb of about 627 feet from a low point of 1,726 feet to a high of 2,374 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.9 miles, with a grade of about 31 percent. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically late spring and early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Cave Junction show May highs around 76°F and September highs around 87°F, while July and August average about 94°F. That station sits roughly 1,000 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the ridge run cooler. The Phone hike starts just 0.3 miles away, and Briggs Creek offers canoeing about 1.2 miles off. Red Dog is another hike at 1.7 miles, and Spalding Pond campground lies about 3.9 miles away.
