The Siskiyou Trail is an easy out-and-back hike in southern Oregon, about 1.8 miles from the town of Jacksonville. The route is 3.2 miles long, with a one-way elevation gain of 548 feet, taking you from a low point of 2,142 feet to a high of 2,522 feet. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Ruch show May highs around 75°F and October highs around 72°F, while July and August average in the low 90s. That station sits roughly 1,000 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the trail run cooler. Several other trails start within a short distance. Ponderosa Snag Trail, Ol' Miners' Trail and Rail Trail are each about 0.2 miles away, and Owl Hoot Trail is about 0.3 miles off.
