Seven Lakes Trail is a short, easy out-and-back hike in Oregon's Sky Lakes Wilderness, within the High Cascades Ranger District of the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forests. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail starts at about 6,177 feet, rising to a high point of 6,270 feet before returning to the starting elevation. The route is about 2.5 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 511 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about half a mile in, where the grade reaches 9 percent. The climb is gentle enough to fit into a longer day of exploring the surrounding trails. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at a similar elevation show July and August highs around 69°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the low 30s and rain on most days. Several other hikes sit close by. Rogue Wolf Loop and Lake Ivern are each about 0.6 miles away, and Cliff Lake is about 0.9 miles off. For an overnight stay, Lower South Fork Campground is about 6.5 miles away.
