Devils Peak is an easy out-and-back hike in Oregon's Sky Lakes Wilderness, within the High Cascades Ranger District of the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forests. The trail is managed by the Forest Service and sits at about 6,900 feet, with the high point on the peak at 7,254 feet. The climb totals about 540 feet of gain and loss over a 2.5-mile round trip, and the steepest stretch comes at about 1.1 miles in, with a grade of 19 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Crater Lake show July and August highs around 69°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the low 30s and rain on 17 or 18 days. The trail is natural-surface and allows horses but not bikes. It is not an accessible route. The Seven Lakes Trail starts just 0.1 mile away, and Cliff Lake and Lake Ivern are both within about a mile. For an overnight stay, Lower South Fork Campground is about 5 miles off.
