Peterson Ridge Middle is a 4-mile moderate hike in the Sisters Ranger District of Deschutes National Forest in Oregon, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is an out-and-back with a front-loaded climb, starting at about 3,600 feet and peaking near 3,826 feet before returning. The steepest part comes around the 2-mile mark, with a grade of about 5%. The trail is rated moderate, with a total elevation gain of about 261 feet. The surface is natural, and both bikes and horses are allowed. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically June and September, when typical averages from a nearby weather station in Sisters run to highs of 74°F and 76°F. That station sits about 600 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the ridge run a little cooler. Peterson Ridge Trail is just 0.2 miles away, and Hawk's Flight is 0.7 miles off.
