Fumarole Bay Trail is a short, easy hike in Crater Lake National Park in Oregon, managed by the National Park Service. The trail is 0.63 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 49 feet, and it runs from a starting point at about 6,256 feet to a high point of 6,263 feet. The route is a point-to-point path, and the steepest stretch comes early on, at about 0.07 miles in, with a grade of 12 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 69°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the low 30s and rain on 17 or 18 days. A fee is charged for the hike. Wizard Island Summit Trail starts just 0.1 mile away, and the Rim Trail, Watchman Peak Trail and Discovery Point Trail are all within about 1.6 miles.
