Found Lake is an easy, short out-and-back hike in Oregon's Deschutes National Forest, within the Bend/Fort Rock Ranger District. The trail is 0.7 miles long, and the climb from the low point at 5,868 feet to the high point at 5,905 feet is about 11 feet, so it's a gentle walk rather than a serious ascent. The trail is on natural surface, and it is open to both horses and bikes. The Forest Service manages the land, and the hike is open year-round. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Odell Lake-East weather station run to highs around 73 to 74°F in July and August, with only about three wet days a month, though that station sits roughly 1,100 feet lower, so temperatures on this trail run cooler. The Metolius-Windigo Trail and The Twins both start about 0.3 miles away, and Islet Campground is about 3.1 miles off. Crane Prairie Reservoir, a fishing spot, is about 8.3 miles away.
