Bugaboo Ridge is a hard out-and-back hike in the Detroit Ranger District of Oregon's Willamette National Forest, about 6 miles from the Bugaboo Trailhead. The trail climbs from roughly 4,259 feet to about 5,451 feet, with a total gain of about 2,329 feet over the round trip. The steepest stretch comes at about 1.7 miles in, where the grade reaches 30 percent. The trail is on natural surface and does not allow bikes. It is open from June 1 through October 31, and the trip takes about 3 hours. Nearby, Independence Rock and Bruno Meadows are both within 2 miles, and Marion Forks Campground is about 1.8 miles away. Paddlers can reach Marion Creek, about 4 miles off.
