Bachelor Mountain is a moderate out-and-back hike of about 3.8 miles in Oregon's Willamette National Forest, on the Detroit Ranger District. The trail starts at Bachelor Mountain Trailhead and climbs from a low point of 4,824 feet to a high point of 5,936 feet, with a total gain of 1,788 feet over the course of the round trip. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.64 miles, where the grade reaches 29 percent. The Forest Service manages the land. The trail is natural surfaced and allows bikes, so riders can take it as a two-wheeled outing. The trailhead is open from June 1 to October 31, and the hike is estimated to take about 2 hours. Coffin Lookout lies just 0.6 miles away, and Bruno Meadows and Bugaboo Ridge are both within 3 miles. For an overnight base, Marion Forks Campground is about 4.5 miles off.
