Blue Canyon Trail is a 6.7-mile out-and-back hike in Oregon's Sky Lakes Wilderness, part of the High Cascades Ranger District of the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forests. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail rises from about 5,680 feet to a high point of 6,260 feet, with a total elevation gain of 1,222 feet over the course of the round trip. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at a similar elevation show July and August highs around 69°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months bring highs in the low 30s and rain on 17 or 18 days. The trip takes about three hours. Meadow Lake and Blue Canyon are both within a mile, and Fourmile Lake Campground is about 3.3 miles away.
