Bingham Ridge is a 5.8-mile out-and-back hike in Oregon's Mount Jefferson Wilderness, within the Detroit Ranger District of the Willamette National Forest. The trail climbs from about 4,260 feet to about 5,176 feet, with a total gain of 1,993 feet over the round trip. The route is rated moderate, and the steepest stretch comes at about 2.4 miles in, where the grade reaches 16 percent. The trail is on natural surface, and horses are allowed. Bikes are not. The Forest Service manages the land, and the hike is open year-round, with an estimated time of about three hours. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Santiam Junction, which sits well below the ridge, show July and August highs around 76°F with lows near 42°F. Winter is cold, with January highs around 38°F and lows near 24°F. Nearby, Marion Lake is about 1.7 miles away and Lake of the Woods about 2 miles. Marion Forks Campground is about 3.6 miles off, and Marion Creek, a canoeing spot, is about 2.2 miles away.
