Bear Minam Trail is a 4.14-mile out-and-back hike in Oregon's Eagle Cap Wilderness, part of the Eagle Cap Ranger District of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is rated expert. The trail climbs from a starting point at about 7,260 feet to a high point of 7,303 feet, with a total elevation gain of 7,076 feet over the round trip. The steepest stretch comes at about 1.3 miles in, where the grade reaches 38 percent. The trip takes about 6.5 hours. The Standley Ridge Trail and Washboard Trail both start within a tenth of a mile of the Bear Minam Trail. Dobbin Creek Trail is about 0.8 miles away. For an overnight base, Boundary Campground sits about 6.3 miles off.
