Miners Basin Trail is a 5.1-mile out-and-back hike in Oregon's Eagle Cap Wilderness, part of the Eagle Cap Ranger District of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail rises from about 5,365 feet to a high point of 7,639 feet, with a total elevation gain of 2,424 feet. The climb is front-loaded, and the steepest stretch comes at about 1.9 miles in, where the grade reaches 45 percent. The route is rated moderate, and the trip takes about three hours. The trail starts at a low point of 5,315 feet and ends at the same elevation, so the full 2,424-foot gain is for the whole trip rather than one way. Several other trails lie within a few miles, including Bear Creek Trail at 3.6 miles and Standley Ridge Trail at 3.7 miles. For an overnight stay, Canyon Forest Camp is about 4.6 miles away and Williamson Campground about 4.9 miles.
