Barnhouse is a Forest Service campground in the Paulina Ranger District of Oregon's Ochoco National Forest. It sits in the backcountry of the district, and the nearest town is Mitchell, about 11 miles away. The site has no fees, and the only amenity is vault toilets. That makes it a simple base for an overnight stay, with no need to plan around a fee or a full service station. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit.
