Grayback is a Forest Service campground in the Wild Rivers Ranger District of the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forests in southwest Oregon. It sits among a cluster of other campgrounds and trails, with Chinquapin Group Campground and Chinquapinn Camp both about 0.3 miles away. The site is simple, with vault toilets as the only listed amenity. A fee is charged for stays. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Cave Junction show May highs around 76°F and October highs around 72°F, while July and August average about 94°F. That station sits roughly 450 feet lower than the campground, so temperatures here run a little cooler. The Grayback Interpretative hike starts about half a mile away, and the Cave Creek Trail is about 2.5 miles off. Paddlers can head to Grayback Creek, about 3.2 miles away, or Sucker Creek, about 3.4 miles away.
