Buck Creek Forest Camp is a Forest Service campground in the La Grande Ranger District of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest in northeastern Oregon. It sits within the forest's recreation network, and the nearest town is Joseph, about 22 miles away. The camp has vault toilets, and a fee is charged for stays. The site is simple, with no other facilities listed, so plan on the basics. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Joseph weather station show July and August highs around 79 to 80°F with only five or six wet days a month, while winter highs stay in the mid-30s.
