Breaker Boy is a moderate out-and-back hike in the Athens Ranger District of Wayne National Forest in southeastern Ohio. The route starts and ends at about 962 feet, with a high point of 962 feet and a low of 749 feet along the way. The climb is 3.9 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 238 feet, and the steepest section comes at about 1.2 miles in, where the grade reaches 11 percent. The trail is on natural surface, and it is open year round. Bikes are allowed, but horses are not, and the trail is not accessible. The nearest town is Athens. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Athens run to highs around 72°F in May and 76°F in September, with October highs near 65°F. That station sits about 278 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the route run a little cooler. Several other hikes start close by, including Oak Rush at 0.4 miles and Tanager Twist at 0.5 miles. The Athens Ranger District's Athens Area lake fishing is about 2.5 miles away, and Sunday Creek offers canoeing roughly 5.7 miles off.
