Hemlock Knoll
About
Hemlock Knoll is a summit in New York about a mile from the town of Andes. It sits right alongside a small cluster of trails, which makes it easy to fold into a day of walking around town. Late summer into early fall is the most comfortable stretch for a visit. A nearby weather station at Delhi records typical September highs around 72°F and lows near 47°F. That station sits a few hundred feet below the knoll, so expect the top to run a little cooler. Two hikes start just 0.2 miles away: the Andes Rail Trail and Bullet Hole. For a longer outing, the Lower Meadow Loop and Upper Meadow Loop lie about 3.4 miles off.
