Lower Meadow Loop is a 1.9-mile point-to-point hike in New York, about 2.6 miles from the town of Andes. The route rises 286 feet, from a starting point around 2,092 feet to a high point of about 2,214 feet. It's rated easy. The trail is a short walk with only a modest climb. The steepest part comes at about 0.5 miles, with a grade of about 21 percent. Dogs are allowed, but bikes and horses are not. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Delhi run to highs around 80°F in July, while September stays mild with highs near 72°F and fewer wet days than the rest of the year. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures up high run cooler. Upper Meadow Loop starts just 0.1 mile away. Andes Rail Trail and Bullet Hole are both about 3.2 miles off, and paddlers can head to Platte Kill, roughly 4.6 miles away.
