Shippee's Slab is a bouldering area in Glenmeal State Forest in New York, managed by the State Department of Conservation. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, with Middle East Boulder and Rick Ross Boulder each about 0.1 mile away and Blaze Wall about 0.4 mile off. The area is a bouldering destination, with five routes all rated on the V scale. Four of them are V0, and the hardest is Lady Gaga at V7. The route named Shippee's Slab is also a V0 boulder problem. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 80°F with lows near 58°F, while winter highs stay in the 20s. Other climbing areas close by include Lower West Side and Far East, each about half a mile away. For a hike, the Clarkson University Trail - Primary is roughly 9 miles off.
