Lake Pleasant Quarry is a climbing area in the Silver Lake Wilderness of New York, managed by the State Department of Conservation. It lies within a cluster of wilderness and backcountry routes, and its quarry setting makes it a compact, focused destination for climbers looking for a mix of styles and grades on a single outing. The quarry's 17 routes span trad, mixed and sport climbing, with YDS grades from 5.3 up to 5.10d. Mixed climbing is the most common style, with eight routes in that category, and the hardest is Stinky Pete at 5.10d. Trad routes include Star Command at 5.9+ and Barrel of Monkeys at 5.3. The area is best suited to climbers comfortable with a range of styles rather than a single discipline. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb here. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Indian Lake run to highs around 75°F in July with lows near 54°F, while winter highs sit in the 20s. Fawn Lake Trail is the closest neighbor at 1.8 miles, and the Piseco-Perkins Clearing Trail and Kunjamuk Cave Trail are both within about 7 miles. Paddlers can reach the Sacandaga River about 7 miles away.
