Orange Trail is a short, easy mountain biking route in New York, set within the Town of Yorktown Parkland on city-managed land. The trail is an out-and-back that covers about 0.2 miles, with a total elevation gain of 63 feet from a low point of 521 feet to a high of 557 feet. The climb is flat, and the steepest stretch comes at about 0.05 miles in, with a grade of about 3 percent. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Shrub Oak show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 75°F, while July peaks near 84°F and January highs sit around 37°F. Several other routes lie close by. Red Path and Green Path are mountain biking options within a quarter mile, and the Ring Trail and Sylvan Glen Trail are hiking routes at a similar distance.
