G Trail - and Yorktown Trailway is a short, easy mountain biking route in New York, about 1.2 miles from the town of Shrub Oak. The trail runs along the TSP, on the old Horse Path and Sewer Right of Way, and is a dual track that makes for a low-effort ride. The route is an out-and-back of about 3.1 miles, with a total elevation gain of 135 feet. The steepest stretch comes early on, at about 0.12 miles in, with a grade of 8 percent. The low point is around 419 feet, and the high point is about 515 feet. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Shrub Oak put May highs around 71°F and September highs around 75°F, with July the warmest month at about 84°F. Several other trails sit right next to this one, including the Y Trail, R Trail and Taconic Bridge Trail, each about 0.1 mile away. Climbers can head to Rocky Glen Pond, roughly 5.7 miles off.
