It is a point-to-point route, and the climb is flat, with the steepest stretch at about 0.1 mile in, where the grade reaches 4 percent. The nearest town is Grant Corner, about 0.7 miles away. The trail is open to horses, and bikes are not allowed. The trip takes about half an hour, so it works well as a quick outing or a link between other routes in the area. For comfortable weather, late spring through early fall is the best window. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Danbury, Connecticut, run from highs around 69°F in May to about 74°F in September, with July the warmest at 82°F. Several other trails sit close by. Yellow Trail is about 0.4 miles away and Red Trail about 0.8 miles. Spruce Lake Trail is roughly 1.3 miles off, and the Mountain Lakes climbing area is about 1.4 miles away.
