Red Trail is a short, easy loop hike in New York, about 0.9 miles from the town of Grant Corner. The trail is 0.74 miles long, and it rises from about 615 feet to about 721 feet, with a total climb of 46 feet and a total descent of 157 feet. The steepest part comes at about 0.65 miles in, with a grade of 7 percent. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Danbury, Connecticut, show May highs around 69°F and September highs around 74°F, with July the warmest month at about 82°F. Several other trails sit close by. Yellow Trail and Spruce Lake Trail are each about 0.4 miles away, and Old Sib Trail is about 0.5 miles away.
