Orange Trail is a short, easy loop in Mine Kill State Park in upstate New York, about 1.3 miles long and managed by State Park and Recreation. It runs between two elevation points, from about 890 feet to about 1,140 feet, and the steepest stretch comes at roughly 0.77 miles in, with a 29% grade. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Lansing Manor, which sits about 1100 feet, put July highs around 81°F with lows near 56°F, while September cools to highs around 73°F. The trail pairs well with other short hikes close by. Red Trail is about 0.4 miles away and Yellow Trail about 0.6 miles. For a longer outing, the Catskill Scenic Trail lies about 4.7 miles off, and Schoharie Creek offers river fishing about 7.3 miles away.
