The route is about a mile long, with a total elevation gain of 209 feet, and it is rated easy. The trail is a point-to-point route, and the climb is not steep overall. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.7 miles in, where the grade reaches 29 percent. The trail starts at roughly 561 feet and reaches a high point of 703 feet before descending to about 407 feet at the end. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 76°F, with July the warmest month at about 84°F. That station sits several hundred feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the route run cooler. The Blue Trail lies just 0.1 mile away, and the Kakiat Trail and Stony Brook are both within a mile. Climbers can find the C U P area about 1.8 miles off.
