Northeast Trail is a 1.5-mile hike in the Mohonk Preserve in New York, managed by a non-governmental organization. The trail is rated easy, with a total elevation gain of 584 feet, and it runs from a starting point at about 1,017 feet to a high of 1,049 feet. The route is a point-to-point path rather than a loop. The steepest stretch comes early, at about 0.36 miles in, where the grade reaches 46 percent. The trail also has a total loss of 424 feet, so it's not a straightforward climb. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Mohonk Lake weather station show May highs around 71°F and September highs around 73°F, while winter brings regular snow days from December through February. Bonticou Path starts just 0.1 mile away, and Bonticou Road is 0.2 mile off. Cedar Drive and Woodside Trail are both about 0.6 mile away.
