Bonticou Road is an easy point-to-point hike in New York, about 2 miles from the village of Butterville. It rises from roughly 968 feet to about 1,092 feet over a little under 2.6 miles, with a low of about 93 feet of elevation gain, and the steepest stretch comes near the 1-mile mark at a 15% grade. Bikes are allowed. Summer and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Mohonk Lake show July highs around 83°F with lows near 64°F, and September highs around 73°F. Winter brings regular snow, with January highs near 34°F and about seven snow days. Several other trails sit close by. Bonticou Path and the Northeast Trail are each about 0.2 miles away, and Cedar Drive is about 0.4 miles away. Climbers can reach Sky Top, about 2.4 miles off.
