The Lithuanian Loop Trail is a short, looped walk of about 0.9 miles in James Kennedy State Forest in New York, managed by the State Department of Conservation. It is an easy hike with a total elevation gain of 186 feet and a total loss of 381 feet, so the route ends up lower than where it starts. The highest point on the trail is 1,757 feet, and the steepest stretch comes at about 0.24 miles in, with a grade of 20 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical July averages from a nearby weather station in Ithaca run about 79°F for the high and 56°F for the low, and the station sits roughly 530 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the loop run cooler. Winter is cold, with typical January highs around 30°F. The trail is close to several other loops. The Irish Loop Trail is about 0.1 miles away, the Dabes Diversion Loop is about half a mile off, and the Kuzia Cut-Off and Spanish Loop Trail are within a mile.
