Bonticou Path is an easy out-and-back hike in New York's Mohonk Preserve, a non-governmental organization-managed land unit about 0.44 miles long with a total elevation gain of 100 feet. The route covers about 0.88 miles round trip, rising from a low point of 805 feet to a high of 928 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.38 miles into the trail, where the grade reaches 15%. Late spring through early fall is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Mohonk Lake show highs around 71°F in May and 73°F in September, while July peaks near 83°F. Winters are cold, with January highs around 34°F and snow on about seven days that month. The trail sits among several other paths. The Northeast Trail is just 0.1 miles away and Bonticou Road about 0.2 miles. Cedar Drive and the Woodside Trail are each roughly 0.6 miles off. Climbers can find Sky Top about 2.3 miles away.
