The Hudson Valley Greenway Trail from Mahopac to Brewster is a point-to-point route of about 8.3 miles, with a moderate climb of 431 feet from a low of 369 feet to a high of 639 feet. The trail starts within a mile of Mahopac, and the steepest stretch comes at about 4.7 miles in, where the grade reaches 10 percent. Bikes are allowed on this route, so it works for hikers and riders alike. Summer is the most comfortable time to go.
