Green Trail is an easy hike of about 1.6 miles on Shaupeneak Ridge in New York, managed by a non-governmental organization. The route gains about 209 feet in elevation, with the steepest stretch at roughly 0.67 miles in, where the grade reaches 17 percent. The trail starts at about 733 feet and reaches a high point of 770 feet. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Rhinebeck show May highs around 73°F and September highs around 77°F, though that station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the ridge run cooler. Several other trails lie close by. Blue Trail is about 0.2 miles away, Yellow Trail about 0.4 miles, and Orange Trail about 0.5 miles. Hyde Park Boulders, a climbing area, is about 5.6 miles off.
