TA-48 is a climbing area in the Jemez Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest in New Mexico, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with The Sanctuary just 0.3 miles away and Hall of Giants at 0.4 miles, so it works well as one stop in a day of exploring the surrounding crags. The area has five trad routes, all rated between 5.10 and 5.11-. The easiest is F Element at 5.10, and the hardest is The Kingdom at 5.11-. The routes are all trad, and the first ascents of several of them are credited to Josh and Erik. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from the nearby Los Alamos weather station show May highs around 70°F and September highs around 74°F, while July and August bring the most wet days, about 13 to 14 a month. Other climbing areas close by include Main Cliff at 0.5 miles and Main Sector at 0.7 miles. For a hike, Capulin Trail 427 is 0.3 miles away.
