Flake n' Bake is a climbing area in the Sandia Mountain Wilderness, part of the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico. The Forest Service manages the land, and the area sits within designated wilderness. The climbing here is a cluster of six routes, five of which are trad and one is sport. The grades run from 5.5 to 5.9-, with the route named Flake n' Bake itself at 5.5. The sport route, Slab, is the only one at 5.7. The other trad routes are Friction Addition at 5.8 and Lena's Direct at 5.9-. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically May and September, when typical averages from the nearby Sandia Park weather station run from highs around 73°F to 77°F. Winter is cold, with January highs near 44°F and lows around 19°F. The area is close to several other climbing spots and trails.
