(C) Long Rib is a climbing area in the Organ Mountains Wilderness of southern New Mexico, within the Las Cruces District Office of the Bureau of Land Management. The nearest town is Boyd, about 3 miles away. The area holds five traditional climbing routes, all rated between 5.7 and 5.9 on the YDS scale. Early Start and Xiphoid Process are both 5.7, and Death Block Alley and Roll Them Bones top out at 5.9. False Rib, a 5.7, was first climbed by Ian Harris, Drew Chojnowski and Marta Reece on January 18, 2016. The routes sit close together with several other climbing areas, including Lesser Spire about 0.2 miles away and Southern Comfort Wall and Rabbit Ears Area each about 0.3 miles away.
