The Albuquerque Area climbing area sits within the Sandia Mountain Wilderness, part of the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico. The Forest Service manages the land, and the area falls within the wilderness boundary, so expect backcountry conditions. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 78°F and October highs around 68°F, while July and August bring the most wet days, about 11 each month. The Tram and Tramway are both about 0.2 miles away, and the Foothills Trail North is about 0.4 miles off. Climbers can also head to Lower La Cueva Domes (History Slabs), roughly 0.8 miles away.
