Trail 230A is a short, easy out-and-back hike in the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest, on city-managed land in New Mexico. The route is about 1.6 miles long, with a low point of 6,362 feet and a high of 6,554 feet, and it gains about 120 feet of elevation. It sits along the Foothills Trail (365), and the nearest town is Albuquerque. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 78°F and October highs around 68°F, while July and August bring the most wet days, about 11 each month. Several other trails start close by. The Kiwanis Picnic Area Trail is about 0.2 miles away, the Nature Trail about 0.3 miles, and the Five Stones Nature Trail about 0.4 miles. Climbers can find the Sandia Mountains climbing area about a mile off.
