Rim Run is an easy out-and-back hike of about 2.9 miles in the Espanola Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest in northern New Mexico. The trail rises about 133 feet from a low point of 7,958 feet to a high of 8,045 feet, making it a short, low-effort outing. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Los Alamos weather station show May highs around 70°F and October highs around 63°F, while July and August bring the most wet days, about 13 to 14 a month. The trail sits close to several other routes. Perimeter Traverse and American Springs (North) are each about 0.2 miles away, and the Cañon de Valle Boulders climbing area is about 0.3 miles off. The Valle hike is about 0.4 miles away.
