North Fork is a hard hike in the Pecos Wilderness, part of the Pecos-Las Vegas Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest in northern New Mexico. The trail is about 16 miles long, with a one-way elevation gain of roughly 2,000 feet, and it is an out-and-back route. The trail is on natural surface, and horses are allowed. Bikes are not. The Forest Service manages the land. The route starts and ends at a low point of about 10,370 feet and reaches a high of about 11,870 feet. The Valdez hike lies just 0.2 miles away, and the Bordo Del Medio Trail (252) and Santiago Lake are each about 1.7 miles off. For an overnight stay, Santa Barbara campground is about 10 miles away.
