Gnasty With a G is an easy out-and-back hike in the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about 2.6 miles long, with a one-way climb of 236 feet from a low point of 7,089 feet to a high of 7,339 feet. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Sandia Park weather station, at a similar elevation, run to highs around 73°F in May and 77°F in September, while winter highs sit in the low 40s. The trail sits among several other routes and climbing areas. Three Bottles Flow Trail is about 0.1 mile away, Gnasty Trail is 0.2 mile away, and Blue Ribbon Trail is 0.4 mile away. Climbers can head to Block Wall, about 0.7 mile off.
