Cajun Pine is a short, easy loop hike in the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest, in New Mexico, managed by the Forest Service. The trail runs about 1.8 miles and gains about 12 feet of elevation, so it's a low-effort outing for a stroll or a warm-up before exploring the surrounding area. The route forms a loop, and its high point reaches about 7,666 feet, while the low point sits at about 7,524 feet. That makes it a flat, low-crawl kind of hike, and it takes roughly half an hour to complete. The most comfortable months for a visit are late spring and early fall. Typical averages from the Sandia Park weather station, about 14.5 miles away, put May highs near 73°F and September highs near 77°F, with lows in the 40s. Several other outings sit close by. The Three Bottles Advanced hike is just 0.1 mile away, and the Drop In hike and David Canyon Road are each about 0.6 mile off. Climbers can head to the Block Wall area, about 2.1 miles away.
