David Canyon Road is a short, easy hike in the Sandia Ranger District of Cibola National Forest in New Mexico, about 1.7 miles from the town of Cedro. The route is an out-and-back of about 1.3 miles, with a low point of 7,438 feet and a high of 7,546 feet, and it gains about 79 feet of elevation. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Sandia Park weather station show May highs around 73°F and September highs around 77°F, with lows in the mid-40s. That station sits about 500 feet lower than the road, so temperatures on the route run a little cooler. Several other outings sit close by. The Drop In and West Boundary hikes are each within a quarter mile, and the Cajun Pine hike is about 0.6 miles away. Climbers can find the Block Wall area roughly 2.2 miles off.
