The Pyramid, also known as the Midway Area, is a climbing area on Bureau of Land Management land within the Caliente Field Office in Nevada. It sits close to several other named climbing spots, including The Arêtes (a.k.a. the Road Area), Sandy Cove Area and Rainbow Canyon, all about a tenth of a mile away. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Elgin, about 1.9 miles away, show April highs around 72°F and October highs around 77°F, while July averages about 100°F. The area has six climbing routes, split evenly between sport and trad styles, with grades from about 5.8 up to 5.11-. Cheap Motel is a trad 5.8, and Nightshade is a sport 5.11b. Vancelot is a sport 5.10.
